Bansi Condoles Gangwari Sanda, Walin Ganye, the Bereaved Family, Ganye Chiefdom and the People of Adamawa State
The Chairman of the AB HASKE Foundation and former Sole Administrator of the Gangdu Development Area, Ganye Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Suwukumfakeni Charles Bansi (Wambai Danaba), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the distinguished elder statesman, political colossus and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of the AB HASKE Foundation, Chief Bansi extended heartfelt sympathies to the Gangwari of Ganye, Alhaji Umaru Adamu Sanda; the revered elder statesman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Peace Commission, Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed Walin Ganye; the immediate family of the late Alhaji Bamanga Tukur; and the entire people of Ganye Chiefdom and Adamawa State.
Chief Bansi described the passing as a monumental loss to Adamawa State and Nigeria at large, coming at a time when the nation continues to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of those who devoted their lives to public service, political development, nation-building and the advancement of democratic values.
According to him, the late Bamanga Tukur was far more than a politician — he was a towering figure whose name became permanently woven into the political fabric of the old Gongola State, Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole. His decades-long journey through public administration and national politics reflected experience, influence, resilience and an enduring commitment to the affairs of his people and country.
“The passing of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur is indeed a painful moment for Adamawa State and Nigeria,” Chief Bansi said. “His generation of political leaders played pivotal roles in shaping our political consciousness and democratic journey. His contributions, experiences and footprints in public life will remain part of our collective history.”
The Foundation’s chairman noted that the true measure of a public figure lies not only in the offices occupied, but in the lives touched, institutions strengthened, communities uplifted, and values bequeathed to succeeding generations. He urged Adamawans — particularly the younger generation — to remember the elder statesman beyond political affiliations and to draw enduring lessons from his remarkable journey in public service.
Chief Bansi used the solemn occasion to reaffirm the humanitarian philosophy that has guided the AB HASKE Foundation for decades, stressing its unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of ordinary people.
He explained that the Foundation’s interventions across communities are anchored on a simple conviction: that leadership must translate into service, compassion must translate into action, and influence must be used to uplift the vulnerable and restore hope to those in need.
“AB HASKE Foundation believes that the greatest legacy any individual or organisation can leave behind is the positive impact made on humanity. For decades, we have remained committed to touching lives, supporting communities and giving hope where it is needed most. The passing of a great Nigerian like Alhaji Bamanga Tukur reminds us once again that life is ultimately measured by the footprints we leave behind,” he stated.
Chief Bansi further described the late statesman as a figure whose political journey now forms part of the enduring historical tapestry of Adamawa and Nigeria — one whose contributions will continue to inspire reflection among political leaders, scholars, historians and generations yet unborn.
He prayed Almighty God to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest, and grace the bereaved family, friends, political associates and the people of Adamawa State with the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
The AB HASKE Foundation also extended condolences to traditional institutions, political leaders, community stakeholders and all those mourning the departure of this respected statesman.
