The race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket in Adamawa State has taken a dramatic turn as frontline aspirant Abdulrahman Bashir Haske surged far ahead of other contenders in what political observers are already describing as a political earthquake ahead of the 2027 governorship battle.
Situation reports emerging from the Haske Campaign Organization’s central situation room late yesterday night revealed a stunning statewide performance by the young businessman and political heavyweight, who is currently dominating the results collated from across the 216 wards of Adamawa State.
According to the figures obtained, with only ten wards in Toungo Local Government Area yet to submit their results as of press time, Abdulrahman Bashir Haske has amassed an overwhelming 555,427 votes, representing a massive 68.66 percent of the total votes counted so far.
Trailing far behind is Galadima with 146,068 votes, accounting for 18.00 percent, while Abbas secured 64,430 votes, representing 7.96 percent. Namdas followed with 45,562 votes, translating to 5.61 percent.
The results, which continued to pour in late into the night, sparked jubilation among Haske’s supporters across several parts of the state, as party faithful described the outcome as a clear reflection of the people’s acceptance of his message of unity, inclusion, empowerment, and political rebirth.
Political analysts monitoring the exercise noted that the margin between Haske and the other aspirants points to what many now consider an unstoppable grassroots political movement that has steadily gained momentum across the state in recent months.
From the southern axis of the state to the central and northern zones, reports indicated that the Haske political structure maintained a formidable presence in ward after ward, outperforming rivals in key battleground areas and consolidating support among party delegates and stakeholders.
Insiders within the APC said the unfolding results may have effectively reshaped the political equation within the party, especially as Haske continued to post impressive figures even in areas considered strongholds of rival aspirants.
Observers also described the development as a major statement ahead of the general elections, arguing that the growing support base enjoyed by Haske demonstrates his rising acceptability among party members and grassroots mobilizers across Adamawa State.
Meanwhile, tension and anticipation remained high in parts of Toungo Local Government Area where ten outstanding wards were still being awaited at the time of filing this report. However, political watchers insist that the pending results are unlikely to significantly alter the already commanding lead established by Haske.
Supporters of the frontline aspirant have since flooded social and political circles with celebrations, insisting that the results represent “the voice of the people” and a clear endorsement of a new political direction for Adamawa State.
Revered elder statesman and political leader in Adamawa State, Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed Walin Ganye, has however called on APC members and supporters across the state to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding as the collation process continues. He urged party faithful to avoid actions capable of causing tension, stressing that everyone should patiently await the final verdict and official declaration by the leadership of the party.
As collation continues, all eyes now remain fixed on the final declaration, but the current numbers already paint the picture of a fierce political dominance that could redefine the future of the APC in Adamawa State.
