The political landscape of Adamawa State witnessed a dramatic twist on Thursday night as frontline gubernatorial aspirant, Abdulrahaman Bashir Haske, recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries across key local government areas, firmly establishing himself as the leading force in the race for the 2027 Government House.
Results obtained from the APC Governorship Result Collation Form in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area revealed an overwhelming victory for the young politician and business mogul, who polled a staggering 18,113 votes, leaving other contenders far behind in what observers have described as a “political tsunami.”
The official result sheet showed that Haske dominated virtually all the wards in Mayo-Belwa, including Mayo-Belwa ward itself, Mayo-Faran, Nalkong, Nasarawo Jereng, Yoffo, Tola, Gorobi, Gengle, Bajama, Gangfada, Binyeri, and Ribadu, proving his widespread acceptance among party faithful and grassroots delegates.
Other aspirants recorded distant figures, with Senator Aminu Iya Abbas scoring 470 votes, Abdulrazak Saad Namdas securing 151 votes, Ahmed Aminu Galadima polling 88 votes, while Dr. Salihu Bamaiyi trailed behind with 378 votes.
Political analysts say the margin of victory in Mayo-Belwa has further cemented Haske’s growing popularity across Adamawa State, especially among youths, women, and grassroots mobilizers who see him as a symbol of a new political generation.
Reports filtering in from other local government areas across the state equally indicate that Abdulrahaman Bashir Haske has maintained a commanding lead and emerged victorious in virtually all the LGAs where results have so far been collated.
From Ganye to Jada, Toungo to Mayo-Belwa, party supporters trooped out in large numbers in celebration, describing the outcome as “the people’s mandate” and a reflection of the massive confidence reposed in the aspirant by APC stakeholders statewide.
The cumulative votes recorded from Ganye, Jada, Toungo, and Mayo-Belwa reportedly stood at an impressive 102,482 votes, underscoring the unprecedented political momentum behind Haske’s ambition.
Despite earlier confusion, delays, and controversies surrounding the conduct of the primaries in some parts of the state, supporters of the APC hopeful insist the overwhelming results emerging from the grassroots have already spoken clearly.
Across major towns and communities Thursday night, jubilations erupted as chants of “Haske! Haske!! Haske!!!” echoed through party secretariats and campaign grounds, while many supporters described the development as the birth of “a new political era” in Adamawa State.
As the final collation process continues, political observers believe the scale of Haske’s performance may redefine the internal power dynamics within the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
