Ganye Local Government witnessed a major political realignment as hundreds of youths — both men and women — who were hitherto loyalists of former House of Representatives member and APC governorship aspirant, Abdulrazak Namdas, dramatically dumped his camp and pledged allegiance to fellow APC governorship hopeful, Abdulrahman Bashir Haske.

The high-profile political movement, which has already sent ripples across the political landscape of Adamawa State, was spearheaded by youthful politician, Ibrahim Abubakar Ganima, who mobilised supporters from different wards and communities across Ganye for the historic gathering held at the prestigious Chiefdom Luxury Suite Hotel.
The event, which attracted an overwhelming crowd of enthusiastic supporters, party stalwarts, political strategists, and grassroots mobilisers, turned into a carnival-like endorsement for Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, widely described by speakers at the event as “the candidate to beat” in the forthcoming governorship contest.
Addressing the mammoth gathering, Ganima said the decision to shift loyalty to Haske was borne out of deep conviction following what he described as the aspirant’s “unparalleled humanitarian footprint, political inclusiveness, and developmental vision” across Adamawa State.

According to him, the growing popularity of Haske among youths and grassroots communities is a reflection of the people’s desire for purposeful leadership and transformational governance.
“After careful consultations and critical assessment of the political realities on ground, we have resolved to align ourselves with Abdulrahman Bashir Haske because he represents competence, compassion, and a new direction for Adamawa State,” Ganima declared amid thunderous applause.
He further charged the defectors and supporters to remain resolute and work tirelessly toward the actualisation of Haske’s governorship ambition, stressing that unity, commitment, and grassroots mobilisation would determine the outcome of the political battle ahead.
In the same vein, the Ganye Local Government Coordinator of the Abdulrahman Bashir Haske Campaign Council, Alhaji Baba Keke, commended the group for what he termed a “bold and visionary political decision.”

He noted that the Haske family has over the years distinguished itself through numerous humanitarian interventions, empowerment programmes, and unwavering support for the less privileged across Adamawa State.
Also speaking, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the Abdulrahman Bashir Haske Mobilisation Forum, Alhaji Zakiru Abubakar Barade, conveyed appreciation on behalf of the governorship aspirant and other prominent political stakeholders, including Alhaji Mansur Toungo and respected political leader of the Ganye Chiefdom, Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed Walin Ganye.
Barade urged party faithful and the people of Adamawa to rally behind Haske, insisting that the aspirant possesses the charisma, political will, and leadership acumen required to reposition the state for greater prosperity.
The gathering equally witnessed the presence of former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Alhaji Jibrin Adams Neonakungli, who applauded the defectors for what he described as a courageous and strategic political alignment.
He maintained that the growing wave of endorsements and defections into the Haske political family clearly demonstrates that the momentum behind the aspirant’s governorship ambition is becoming increasingly unstoppable.
Political observers believe the development may significantly alter the power dynamics within the APC in Adamawa State, especially in Southern Adamawa where Ganye remains a critical political stronghold.
