The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates contesting the 2027 National Assembly elections, in line with Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act 2026.
The announcement was made in a letter signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Rose Orarian Anthony, dated September 10, 2026.
Ahmed Abdullahi Musa, alias “Speaker,” of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, and fifteen others are contesting the Adamawa Central Senatorial seat in the National Assembly.
Others on the list are Umar Abdulnasir Hamman (A Party), Saad Nuhu (ADP), Bakari Umar Kawu (APP), Danpullo Benjamin Chessed (AAC), Ibrahim Mustapha (ADC), Salihu Mustapha (APC), Abdulhakeem Dankishiya (APGA), Abubakar Abba (APM), Adamu Musa Bassi (DLA), and Nachamada Emmanuel Musa (LP).
Also contesting are Edan Nexon Mwaye (NRM), Tizhe Barka (NNPP), Attah Mohammed Ibrahim (PDP), Lawal Saed A.A. (SDP), and Suleiman Mohammed Raji (YPP).
In total, 38 senatorial candidates across Adamawa State’s three senatorial zones have been confirmed on the final list.
The publication marks a critical step in Nigeria’s electoral process, ensuring transparency and clarity for voters ahead of the 2027 polls. It also signals the official commencement of campaigns, giving voters a clear picture of their choices. The range of parties represented — from major players such as APC, PDP, NDC, and LP to smaller parties like AAC and NRM — underscores Nigeria’s multi-party democratic framework.
