Ganye Chiefdom was enveloped in grief as Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq, the Walin Ganye, dispatched a special delegation to pay a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late Elder Statesman, Chief Baba David Saraso, the revered Zannan Ganye whose passing has left a profound void in the traditional and social fabric of the Chiefdom.
The delegation, led by Elder Barrister Yusuf Jangwe and accompanied by Honourable Emmanuel Dominic Mapeo, JP, alongside Alhaji Sadik Sanjo, visited the residence of the deceased to formally convey the deep sorrow and condolences of the Walin Ganye over the loss of a distinguished elder, respected community leader, and devoted custodian of Ganye’s cultural heritage.
Chief Baba David Saraso was widely regarded as a pillar of wisdom, peace, and unity within the Chiefdom. His unwavering commitment to the progress and stability of Ganye earned him admiration across generations, making his demise not only a loss to his family but to the entire community.
Receiving the delegation, members of the bereaved family expressed profound gratitude to Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq for his compassion, solidarity, and unwavering support during their moment of grief. They described the visit as a powerful demonstration of the enduring bond and respect that existed between the late statesman and the Walin Ganye.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Elder Barrister Yusuf Jangwe conveyed the heartfelt reaction of the Walin Ganye, who described the late Zannan Ganye as an elder brother, trusted adviser, and senior council member whose wisdom and counsel would be greatly missed. He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed statesman and encouraged the family to remain strong, assuring them that they were not alone in bearing the weight of the loss.
The delegation further requested that the family keep the Walin Ganye informed of all burial arrangements, reaffirming his desire to continue standing with the family and to participate fully in the final rites of the departed elder.
