NATION MOURNS AS FINTIRI GRIEVES OVER DEATH OF NYSC MEMBERS, SOLDIER IN HORRIFIC ADAMAWA CRASH

YOLA — Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has expressed profound sorrow and anguish over the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of several National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and a military officer in Adamawa State.
In a heartfelt condolence message released on Thursday through his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri described the devastating incident as a national tragedy, saying the untimely deaths of the young corps members and the soldier have cast a dark shadow over the state and the nation.
The governor lamented that the victims lost their lives while faithfully serving their fatherland, describing their demise as a painful sacrifice in the line of duty.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Adamawa State, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the National Youth Service Corps, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and the Government and people of Kaduna State, from where some of the corps members originated,” Fintiri stated.
He noted that the fallen corps members and the gallant military officer answered the call of national service with courage and patriotism, stressing that their commitment and sacrifice would forever remain etched in the nation’s memory.
Governor Fintiri prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and called on God Almighty to grant comfort, strength, and fortitude to their grieving families, friends, colleagues, and all those affected by the tragedy.
The governor further directed relevant state agencies to work closely with NYSC and military authorities to ensure adequate support and assistance are provided to the bereaved families during this difficult period.
“At this moment of immense grief, Adamawa State stands united with all those mourning this heartbreaking loss. May the Almighty God console the bereaved, grant quick recovery to the injured, and give eternal rest to the departed,” the governor said.
The condolence message was issued on June 5, 2026, as tributes continue to pour in for the victims whose lives were cut short in the tragic crash.
The heartbreaking incident has once again reignited concerns over road safety and the protection of personnel serving the nation, as Nigerians mourn the loss of promising young corps members and a brave soldier whose journey ended in service to their country.
