Eid-el-Kabir: Walin Ganye Calls For Peace, Unity And Religious Harmony Among Nigerians

As Muslims across Nigeria and the world celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the International Peace Commission, Alh. Sadiq Mohammed Walin Ganye, has extended warm Sallah greetings to the Muslim Ummah, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, tolerance, and love for one another.
In his goodwill message, the revered elder statesman called on Nigerians to use the sacred season of sacrifice and devotion as a moment for deep reflection on the values of compassion, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence.
Walin Ganye stressed that no society can prosper in an atmosphere of hatred, division, or religious intolerance, emphasizing that both Muslims and Christians must continue to live together as one united family irrespective of ethnic, political, or religious differences.
According to him, Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity, and the country can only attain lasting peace and meaningful development when citizens choose dialogue over conflict, understanding over hatred, and unity over division.
He urged religious leaders, youths, community stakeholders, and political actors to refrain from spreading messages capable of inciting violence or disunity, noting that peace remains the foundation upon which every progressive society is built.
“The spirit of Eid-el-Kabir teaches sacrifice, love, patience, and obedience to God. This is the time for Nigerians to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and promote mutual respect among all faiths. Muslims and Christians must continue to see themselves as one people with a common destiny,” he stated.
The peace advocate further appealed to Nigerians to support one another, extend kindness to the less privileged, and pray fervently for enduring peace, stability, and prosperity in the country.
He also called on citizens to reject all forms of hate speech, discrimination, and violence capable of threatening national unity, while encouraging the younger generation to become ambassadors of peace and tolerance within their communities.
Walin Ganye concluded by wishing the Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous, and spiritually rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that the season brings renewed hope, harmony, and progress to Nigeria and humanity at large.
