FRONTLINE SWOOP IN BORNO: TROOPS NAB THREE WOMEN OVER TERROR LINKS, INTERCEPT STRATEGIC SUPPLIES HEADED FOR INSURGENTS

In a decisive and intelligence-driven operation, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended three women suspected of acting as logistics couriers for Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents in Borno State, dealing yet another blow to terrorist supply chains in Nigeria’s troubled North-East.
The high-stakes interception occurred on April 13 in the volatile Monguno Local Government Area, where operatives of the Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade, working in close synergy with the vigilant Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), executed a swift and coordinated operation in the Abari general area.

Security sources disclosed that the suspects—identified as Falmata Abukar (43), Halima Audu (35), and Mairo Abba (17)—were intercepted while allegedly attempting to transport critical supplies from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area, a region long considered a strategic corridor within the Lake Chad insurgency theatre.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the arrest underscores the evolving tactics of insurgent networks, increasingly relying on covert civilian channels to sustain their operations.

A search conducted on the suspects yielded a significant cache of items believed to be destined for террорист elements operating within the Lake Chad axis. Recovered materials include:
12 pairs of suspected terrorist uniform fabrics
176 bottles of herbicide, suspected for operational use
22 wrappers and 24 assorted children’s clothing
A mosquito net and a mat
Cash sum of ₦15,500
Military sources emphasized that the assortment of items points to a carefully coordinated logistics effort aimed at supporting insurgents in remote enclaves.

The suspects are currently in military custody, where they are undergoing preliminary interrogation to unravel the depth of their alleged involvement and to expose possible links within the broader террорист supply and intelligence network.
This latest breakthrough highlights the sustained vigilance of Nigerian troops and local security volunteers, as well as the increasing effectiveness of intelligence-led operations in dismantling insurgent infrastructure.
Observers note that as military offensives intensify across the North-East, insurgent groups are resorting to unconventional methods, including the use of unsuspecting or coerced civilians, to move supplies and evade detection.

The Lake Chad axis remains a critical flashpoint in Nigeria’s counter-insurgency campaign, with security forces maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist elements determined to destabilize the region.
Authorities have reiterated their call for continued community cooperation, stressing that timely intelligence remains pivotal in the ongoing fight against insurgency.
As investigations deepen, security agencies are expected to widen the dragnet in a bid to dismantle the shadowy networks sustaining terrorist operations across Borno and beyond.
