Go For Tinubu Coordinator Rallies Adamawa for Peace, Unity and Voter Education Ahead of Polls

YOLA — In a stirring charge to Nigeria’s political class, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the Go For Tinubu Campaign Group, Hon. Abubakar Shettima Usman, has called on leaders and public officials at every level to fear God, uphold justice, and govern with fairness, accountability and an unwavering sense of duty to the people.
Shettima issued the charge in Yola while addressing journalists shortly after a general meeting of the group’s members, where he laid out the organisation’s mission and its strategy to mobilise grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of future elections.
Leadership, he stressed, must be anchored on justice and the fear of God — with those entrusted with public office obligated to place the welfare of the people above personal or political interest. He urged Nigerians to keep their leaders in prayer, seeking divine guidance for all who bear the weight of governing the nation.
According to Shettima, the Go For Tinubu Campaign Group was founded to build grassroots momentum for the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a sharp focus on sustaining and consolidating the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The group, he said, is building a formidable structure capable of reaching deep into communities across Adamawa State and beyond, working toward the success of APC candidates at every level — from the grassroots to the state and federal stage.
“We are committed to mobilising our people, educating them politically, and ensuring that they understand the importance of participating actively in the democratic process,” Shettima declared.
Shettima named voter education among the organisation’s top priorities, insisting that an informed electorate is the bedrock of a strong democracy. Citizens, he said, must fully grasp their civic responsibilities and the electoral process in order to make sound, independent choices at the polls.
Beyond the campaign trail, Shettima positioned the group as a champion of peaceful coexistence, unity and responsible citizenship — warning that political differences must never be allowed to fracture relationships, communities, or the nation’s unity.
He charged members to carry this message of peace to the grassroots, declaring that genuine development cannot take root in an atmosphere of violence, hatred or division. He appealed to the people of Adamawa to rally behind initiatives that promote peace and good governance, while urging political actors across the board to act responsibly and steer clear of conduct that could inflame tensions between communities.
He voiced confidence that heightened political awareness, unity and peaceful engagement would drive socio-economic progress for both Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.
Shettima closed with a prayer for divine wisdom for Nigeria’s leaders and for lasting peace, unity and sustainable development across Adamawa and the country. He renewed his call on Nigerians to keep the nation and its leaders in their prayers, stressing that building a peaceful, prosperous Nigeria remains a shared responsibility between citizens and those who govern them.
