GANYE – In a remarkable display of compassion and community service, the Unity Farmers Association, Ganye Branch, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to humanitarian service by extending relief materials and financial support to vulnerable members of society in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The humanitarian outreach, held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Ganye Local Government Lodge, attracted community leaders, philanthropists, association members, and beneficiaries who gathered to witness another milestone in the association’s mission of restoring hope to the less privileged.
The Executive Chairman of Ganye Local Government, Hon. Daniel Kamsobi Puren, who was the Special Guest of Honour, was represented by the Director-General of his Campaign Council, Elder Andy Gombe.
Presenting the envelopes containing the association’s support packages to the beneficiaries, Elder Gombe applauded the Unity Farmers Association for sustaining a humanitarian tradition that has continued to touch lives despite operating without government funding or foreign assistance.
He described the association’s efforts as a shining example of selfless service and community solidarity, stressing that the administration of Hon. Daniel Kamsobi Puren values organizations that dedicate themselves to uplifting the poor and vulnerable.
“The Chairman is delighted by what this association is doing. These humanitarian interventions deserve encouragement and support because they complement government’s efforts in caring for the less privileged,” Gombe said.
He assured the association that the local government would continue to identify areas of collaboration aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable residents across Ganye.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Unity Farmers Association, Mr. Joseph Buba, outlined the vision and mission of the organization, describing it as a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian association established solely to serve humanity.
According to him, the association exists to bring relief and hope to widows, orphans, the elderly, the sick, persons living with disabilities, inmates of correctional facilities, and other vulnerable members of society who often feel forgotten.
Joseph Buba explained that the outreach was not the association’s first humanitarian intervention, noting that members have consistently pooled resources from their personal earnings to support people in hospitals, correctional centres and disadvantaged communities.
“We believe that humanity is the greatest investment anyone can make. Though our resources are limited, we have resolved to continue reaching out to those in need with whatever God has blessed us with,” he said.
He appreciated members of the association for their commitment and sacrifices and thanked the invited guests for honouring the occasion despite their busy schedules. He also wished them safe journeys back to their respective destinations.
Among the distinguished guests was renowned philanthropist Alhaji Sani Yahya Paris, who praised the Unity Farmers Association for setting an inspiring example of compassion and selfless service.
He noted that organizations driven purely by humanitarian ideals without political, religious or foreign influence have become increasingly rare, describing the association as a model worthy of emulation across Nigeria.
“It is encouraging to see ordinary citizens contributing from their little resources to support those in need. This spirit of generosity is what strengthens communities and promotes peaceful coexistence,” he remarked.
Alhaji Sani Yahya Paris, who was previously honoured by the Unity Farmers Association with an award for his outstanding philanthropic contributions to the development of Ganye Chiefdom, urged well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to support the association’s humanitarian initiatives.
The beneficiaries, many of whom were widows, elderly persons and other vulnerable residents, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Unity Farmers Association for remembering them during difficult times.
Several of them offered prayers for the continued growth and success of the association, asking Almighty God to bless every member abundantly and replenish the resources used in supporting humanity.
The event ended with renewed calls for greater community participation in charitable activities, as stakeholders emphasized that collective compassion remains one of the strongest tools for reducing poverty, restoring dignity and building a more caring and united society.
