Police Launch Full Investigation as Victim Battles for Recovery
KANO – A relationship crisis took a horrifying turn in Kano State after a 25-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a knife and inflicting severe injuries during an altercation at a hotel.
The suspect, Maimunatu Idris, who hails from Maigatari Local Government Area of Jigawa State, was taken into police custody following the incident, which occurred at Durbar Hotel in the Badawa area of Kano.
According to the Kano State Police Command, preliminary investigations indicate that the attack allegedly followed a heated disagreement after the woman reportedly discovered that her boyfriend was making plans to marry another woman.
Police said the confrontation escalated into violence, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim and caused grievous injuries to his private parts with a sharp knife.
The victim, whose identity has not been officially disclosed, was rushed to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital in Kano, where medical personnel are battling to stabilize his condition.
Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, described the alleged attack as disturbing and condemned every form of violence in intimate relationships.
The police chief disclosed that officers swiftly responded after receiving a distress report, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
He assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and pledged that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
