As the old year recedes into history and a New Year dawns with renewed promise, elder statesman and respected community leader, Alhaji Sadiq Walin Ganye, has extended heartfelt New Year greetings to Nigerians, calling for unity, peace and collective national rebirth.
In his New Year message, Alhaji Sadiq Walin Ganye described the New Year as more than a ceremonial change of dates, but a solemn opportunity for deep reflection, moral renewal and a recommitment to the values that bind Nigerians together as one people.
Reflecting on the outgoing year, the Walin Ganye noted that despite economic and social challenges, Nigerians demonstrated uncommon resilience, patience and faith. According to him, these enduring virtues remain the bedrock upon which a stronger, more peaceful and prosperous nation can be built.
He particularly urged well-meaning Nigerians across all regions, faiths and political leanings to continue to pray fervently for the unity and peaceful coexistence of the country, stressing that no nation can attain sustainable development without peace, and no peace can endure without unity of purpose.
“Our diversity should never be a source of division, but a strength to be nurtured through tolerance, understanding and mutual respect,” he said, calling on citizens to reject hate, shun divisive narratives and embrace dialogue as the pathway to national stability.
The elder statesman further appealed to Nigerians to place national interest above personal, ethnic or sectional considerations, noting that progress, justice and security flourish only in an atmosphere of harmony and shared responsibility.
Addressing various segments of society, the Walin Ganye charged the youth to channel their energy, innovation and talents toward nation-building, while calling on elders to continue offering wise counsel and moral guidance. He also acknowledged the invaluable role of women as the stabilizing force of families and communities, describing them as indispensable partners in national development.
As the New Year unfolds, Alhaji Sadiq Walin Ganye called for renewed commitment to integrity, compassion, patriotism and service to humanity, urging every Nigerian to play a role—big or small—in promoting peace and unity.
He expressed optimism that with sincere prayers, purposeful leadership and collective goodwill, Nigeria can overcome its challenges and march confidently toward a future of shared prosperity and lasting peace.
