JUST IN: Wike Appoints Nancy Nathan As Acting FCTA Head Of Service After Adayilo’s Death

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan as the Acting Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), following the sudden passing of her predecessor, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, last week.

The announcement, made on Tuesday through a statement signed by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, confirmed that Nathan’s appointment takes immediate effect.

Mrs. Nathan, a seasoned administrator and technocrat, was until her elevation the Permanent Secretary of the Youth Development Secretariat of the FCTA. She previously served as Director of Finance and Administration in the Office of the Honourable Minister of the FCT before her deployment as Permanent Secretary, where she earned a reputation for competence and dedication.

The Minister’s decision to appoint her, according to the statement, was driven by the need to ensure continuity in the administration’s operations during a critical transition period. Nathan will hold the position in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.

Her appointment comes at a sensitive time for the FCTA, as the administration continues to grapple with both development pressures and the need for seamless governance in Nigeria’s capital city.
