In a decisive move to curb the menace of gangsterism, the Adamawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended four individuals suspected of terrorizing the Jambutu area in Yola North Local Government. This latest development underscores the command’s unwavering commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all residents.

In a statement posted on their official X handle, the police identified the suspects as Sadiq Usman (20), Abba Ibrahim (18), Abdul Jibrin (20), and Labaran Muhammed (20). The four men were arrested at Geriyo Junction at approximately 2 a.m. during a police patrol. Upon their arrest, the police discovered a cache of dangerous weapons, including a dagger and a knife. The suspects were also found smoking dried leaves, suspected to be Indian hemp.
This operation comes in response to numerous complaints from residents of Jambutu and its environs, who have been plagued by incidents of robbery and theft. The arrest of these suspects is expected to bring much-needed relief to the community.
Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has reiterated the command’s dedication to the fight against crime, particularly the ongoing battle against the infamous Shilla gang—a criminal syndicate known for its involvement in robberies and violence in the area. He assured the public that the suspects are currently in police custody and will be thoroughly investigated, with more recoveries likely to follow as the investigation unfolds.
“The Adamawa State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities,” CP Morris stated.
This bold action sends a clear message to criminal elements operating in the state that the police will not relent in their efforts to protect the people of Adamawa.
