Fintiri Takes Oath Of Office For Another 4 Years. Our Correspondent

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, took an oath of office as the Governor of the state for a second term.


Similarly, the former Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta was sworn in as first Female Deputy Governor of the State.


The oath of office was administered by the Adamawa Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman at a well-attended ceremony held at Mahmud Ribadu Square, Yola.
Governor Fintiri in his speech thanked Adamawa citizens for their confidence in him and his leadership, hence the basis for his re-election to pilot the affairs of Adamawa State.


He told the mammoth crowd that his first term laid the foundation for the attainment of the policy objective aimed at making Adamawa State a viable and progressive state that will turn around the fortunes of the citizens of the state.
The Governor promised to continue to serve the citizens in absolute humility and devotion while appropriating the resources to improve their living conditions.


He intimated that his administration performed credibly well within the first tenure with the lean resources, saying even detractors have attested to his remarkable achievements.
“Now, more than ever before, we have a deeper and better understanding of some of these issues and would no doubt improve on our approaches and strategies to achieve better results with maximum impact,” he said.


The Governor said his administration shall be more deliberate in areas of security, education, health, infrastructure, urban mass transportation, urban water supply, agriculture and environment.
He thanked the electorates, international community, election monitors and observers, journalists and all Civil Society Organizations and electoral body for ensuring credible elections.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Barr. Tahir Shehu said the party is overwhelmed by the achievements of the Governor and wished him success during the second tenure.


Meanwhile, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, of Adamawa State has approved the dissolution of the State Executive Council as well as relieved all political office holders including Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals.


The Governor has also directed all the affected appointees to hand over government property in their custody to the most senior civil servants in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The Governor’s directive is contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humashi Wonosikou, and made available to Journalists.


Fintiri who begins his second term in office on Monday 29th May, 2023 however, excluded political office-holders in statutory commissions from the directive.
While appreciating the contributions of the affected appointees to the development of the state, the Governor wished them success in their future endeavours.
