Hon. Mohammed Inuwa Bassi football competition which started some months back at Gurum Nongvan with the number of 16 clubs who registered for the competition,

has finally come to an end on Sunday, the 9th of October, 2022 with the unprecedented evince of mammoth crowd who thronged to the competition pitch to catch the glimpse of the event.

The SAMGASSUMMI WARRIORS FC were crowned champions after whitewashing their counterpart from progress in a very entertaining encounter.

The two teams had proven themselves before reaching this stage of the competition after reaching the finals from glorious semis.

The final of the competition which had Hon. Bassi himself in attendance, his wife Mrs. Gyatam M. Bassi, Permanent secretary ministry of finance Adamawa State, Chairman Jada LGA, Hon. Salihu M. So’o, Hon. Mahmud Gurum Pawo DG campaign, Rev. Habila M. Istifanus, former chairman Jada LGA, Hon. Bakala, Hon. Mohammed Farouck aka (BULDOZER) and other dignitaries at the grand finale, add lustre to the competition.

Hon. Bassi who kick start the ball for the two teams to the admiration of the spectators and guest has made many to believe that he was a skilful footballer during his youthful days.

It was an easy ride for SAMGASSUMI WARRIORS as the took the lead in the first halve of the game when Obinna open a score line with a super nodding volley inside 18 yards.

SAGASSUMI WARRIORS enjoyed good possession for the better part of the game which sealed the fate of the eleven stars of Gurum.

In his remarks, Hon. Bassi calls for unity among the electorates of his federal constituency, he encouraged the 16 football clubs that participated in the tournament to be united.

He promised to organized another football competition that will cover the four Local Government of his federal constituency.

“The importance of sporting activities like this cannot be overemphasised to the development of the youths and the society in general.

“Apart from enhancing physical fitness, football also promote unity, peace, love and tackle youths’ restiveness ie society.
