MAIHA POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE: APC STAKEHOLDERS UNITE IN GRAND ALLIANCE, DECLARE WAR ON UNDERDEVELOPMENT AHEAD OF 2027!

“No More Division—Maiha Moves As One!”

By Usman Umar Girei

Maiha, Adamawa State — In what observers have described as a defining political turning point, the entire political architecture of Maiha Local Government Area has been dramatically reshaped as key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) forged an unbreakable alliance, setting the stage for accelerated development and a sweeping electoral triumph in 2027.

The historic convergence, held at the Maiha Local Government Secretariat on Tuesday, was nothing short of electrifying. It brought together a powerful coalition of political titans, traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, and grassroots mobilizers in a rare display of unity, reconciliation, and renewed political purpose.
At the heart of this monumental gathering were the Executive Chairman of Maiha LGA, Hon. Abubakar Mustapha, and the Member representing Maiha Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel, both of whom led the charge in rallying stakeholders toward a singular vision: transforming Maiha into a beacon of development and political strength.

Amid thunderous chants of “APC! Sai Mun Yi!”, defectors and long-standing party loyalists embraced in a symbolic show of solidarity, effectively collapsing political divides that once threatened the unity of the area.

The gathering attracted a formidable lineup of political heavyweights, including former aspirants, ex-council officials, APC Chairman in Maiha LGA Musa Isa, and former PDP Chairman Hon. Sali S. Yaki, alongside respected traditional title holders whose presence added cultural depth and legitimacy to the occasion.
In a rousing address that drew repeated applause, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel declared that the realignment was not a mere political convenience but a strategic movement anchored on development, inclusivity, and progress.
“This is about delivering real change—projects that our people can see and feel. Maiha must not be left behind,” he asserted.
He emphasized that aligning with the ruling party at the centre positions Maiha to attract critical federal interventions—ranging from infrastructure upgrades and educational improvements to youth and women empowerment initiatives.
Belel further underscored that unity among political actors is non-negotiable, warning that division and rivalry would only sabotage the collective dream of a prosperous Maiha.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Mustapha, described the gathering as both historic and symbolic, declaring an end to factional politics within the party.
“There are no old or new members anymore—only one united APC family committed to the progress of Maiha,” he proclaimed.
He revealed that the council, in synergy with the newly integrated political bloc, has already rolled out a bold development blueprint targeting:
Rural electrification
Revitalization of primary healthcare centres
Expansion of agricultural support for farmers
According to him, the era of empty promises is over, assuring citizens that visible, impactful projects will soon speak louder than words.

The APC Chairman in Maiha, Musa Isa, described the mass defection as a “homecoming of progressives”, signaling a new era of political dominance for the party.
He directed ward executives across all 10 wards to immediately integrate new members into party structures, stressing inclusivity and unity as the bedrock of sustainable development.
“Maiha APC is now stronger, more united, and fully prepared to lead both development and victory in 2027,” he stated confidently.

In a dramatic moment that underscored the gravity of the event, former PDP Chairman Hon. Sali S. Yaki revealed that the mass defection was guided by directives from former PDP State Chairman Hon. Hamza Madagali.
“We are loyal to leadership and committed to the good of our people. This movement is about Maiha—not personal ambition,” Yaki declared, sparking loud cheers from the energized crowd.

The event, which lasted over three hours, was punctuated by vibrant displays of solidarity. Women groups rendered songs of unity, while youth groups staged energetic marches, waving APC flags and brandishing placards boldly declaring:
“Maiha Is APC!”
“One Family, One Purpose!”

Political analysts say the development represents a major realignment capable of redefining Maiha’s electoral landscape, positioning the APC as a formidable force with unprecedented cohesion and grassroots reach.
As the gathering drew to a close, stakeholders collectively renewed their commitment to:
Fast-tracking development projects
Empowering youths and women
Intensifying grassroots mobilization
All eyes are now on Maiha as this newly forged alliance sets out to translate unity into tangible progress—a move that could not only reshape the local political terrain but also echo powerfully across Adamawa State ahead of 2027.
Indeed, in Maiha today, a new chapter has begun—one written in unity, strength, and an unshakable resolve to deliver progress.
