Girei, Adamawa State — An atmosphere of joy, unity, and deep spiritual reflection enveloped Girei as thousands of Muslim faithful converged on the Girei Eid Prayer Ground to celebrate the sacred festival of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The grand event witnessed the presence of top government officials, respected traditional rulers, and prominent political office holders, whose attendance added prestige and significance to the celebration. Their participation underscored the importance of Eid-el-Fitr as not only a religious observance but also a moment of unity across leadership and the wider community.

“Supporting the needy fosters unity and strengthens the fabric of our society. When you uplift others, Allah, in His infinite mercy, will uplift you in all aspects of life,” the revered cleric admonished.
Sheikh Abubakar further used the solemn occasion to offer fervent prayers for enduring peace, stability, and development in Adamawa State and Nigeria at large, urging citizens to remain steadfast in righteousness beyond the Ramadan season.
The celebration was further enlivened by the dazzling array of attire worn by attendees. The Eid ground transformed into a vibrant spectacle, with worshippers adorned in elegant traditional garments and stylish modern outfits, symbolising renewal, gratitude, and cultural pride.
Despite the massive turnout, the event was conducted in an orderly and secure manner, thanks to the visible presence of security personnel and other relevant agencies strategically deployed across the prayer ground and its environs. Their vigilance ensured a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
As families reunited, dignitaries exchanged pleasantries, and children revelled in the festive spirit, the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Girei stood as a shining testament to faith, leadership solidarity, compassion, and communal resilience—values that continue to bind the society together.
