MAIHA, ADAMAWA STATE — In a powerful endorsement of ongoing security reforms in Adamawa State, the Emir of Maiha, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru Sanda, has showered commendations on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for what he described as decisive and timely actions in restoring peace across troubled communities.
Delivering his royal Sallah message during the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations at his palace in Maiha Local Government Area, the revered monarch struck a tone of gratitude, unity, and cautious optimism, noting that the improved security landscape has rekindled hope among residents.
The Emir attributed the relative calm currently enjoyed in Maiha and surrounding communities to the Governor’s proactive security strategies, which he said have significantly curtailed threats and strengthened public confidence.
“We are deeply grateful to Almighty Allah for the peace we are witnessing today. The efforts of the state government in addressing insecurity have not gone unnoticed. It has lifted the spirits of our people and renewed their sense of safety,” the monarch declared.
In a message laced with statesmanship, the royal father further assured of the unwavering support and prayers of the Maiha people for the success of the Fintiri administration, emphasizing that leadership thrives where the people stand united.
As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Emir issued a passionate appeal for calm, discipline, and respect for the rule of law. He urged citizens to shun violence and embrace peaceful coexistence, stressing that the future of democracy depends on collective responsibility.
“Let us remain law-abiding and uphold peace before, during, and after the elections. We pray for credible and transparent processes that will strengthen our democracy,” he added.
The Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Maiha was a vibrant display of faith, culture, and communal harmony. Thousands of Muslim faithful converged in an atmosphere filled with prayers, traditional performances, and acts of charity, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry and enduring unity of the people.
Top government officials, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, and political figures graced the occasion, underscoring its significance as both a spiritual and socio-political gathering.
In a final note of caution, the Emir charged residents to remain vigilant, urging them to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to security agencies.
“Security is a collective duty. Together, we must safeguard the peace we are enjoying,” he concluded.
