A deep pall of sorrow has enveloped Adamawa Press Limited (APL), Yola, following the death of Malam Mustafa Chubado, elder brother of Usman Umar Girei, a staff member of the organisation. Malam Mustafa Chubado passed away on January 3, 2026, in Girei town, at the age of 54, after battling a prolonged illness for a long period.
The sad news sent shockwaves through the APL community and beyond, as colleagues, friends, and well-wishers poured in condolences, describing the loss as painful and deeply touching. The deceased was said to have endured his ailment with remarkable patience and faith, drawing sympathy and prayers from family members and the wider community throughout his long struggle.
His funeral prayers were held at the Girei Central Mosque, where hundreds of Muslim faithful converged to pay their final respects. The prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Girei Central Mosque, Sheikh Abubakar Halilu Girei, in a solemn atmosphere marked by grief and reflection. He was later buried according to Islamic rites.
Malam Mustafa Chubado is survived by six childrenβ€”four daughters and two sons. His wife, Malama Fadima Mustafa, had predeceased him two years ago, making his passing a particularly painful loss for the family he left behind.
In a condolence message, Adamawa Press Limited (APL) expressed its deepest sympathies to its staff member, Usman Umar Girei, and the entire Chubado family, praying that Allah grants the deceased eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and gives the family the strength and patience to bear the loss.
Colleagues and friends within and outside the organisation have continued to rally around the bereaved family, offering prayers and words of comfort in this moment of profound grief.
Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
