In a spectacular celebration of culture, leadership, and service to humanity, the Honourable Commissioner of Works and Housing in Adamawa State, Hon. Adamu Atiku—popularly known by his revered traditional title Sardaunan Ganye—was honoured with an Award of Excellence for his outstanding contributions to sociocultural advancement at the just-concluded Chamba Youths Council of Nigeria National Summit.

The high-profile three-day event, which brought together traditional leaders, policymakers, youth delegates, and cultural advocates from across the Chamba nation, was held at the Federal Government College (FGC) Ganye in Adamawa state, culminating on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Hon. Adamu Atiku (Sardaunan Ganye) Adamawa State Commissioner of Works

Hon. Atiku was among the distinguished personalities whose impact in strengthening cultural identity, youth empowerment, and community development earned national recognition. As a titled noble under the Ganye Traditional Council, his award was presented by none other than the revered paramount ruler, His Royal Highness, the Gangwari of Ganye, lending the recognition a royal seal of honour.

Witnesses described the moment of presentation as electrifying. A mammoth crowd surged forward to witness the ceremony, applauding the commissioner’s humility, generosity, and service record. Chants of appreciation echoed across the venue as youths and community stakeholders hailed him as “a leader whose actions speak louder than his title.”

For many observers, the accolade was long overdue. Since assuming office as Commissioner of Works and Housing under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Hon. Adamu Atiku has spearheaded some of the most transformative infrastructural interventions across Adamawa State. From modern road networks and housing projects to urban renewal initiatives, his blueprint for development is widely described as the engine driving Adamawa’s infrastructural revolution.

Stakeholders at the summit commended his rare blend of leadership—combining cultural rootedness with administrative excellence. His contributions, they noted, have not only elevated the physical landscape of Adamawa State but also reinforced cultural pride among the Chamba people and beyond.

The Chamba Youths Council of Nigeria, organizers of the summit, stressed that the Award of Excellence is reserved for individuals whose work creates measurable impact on youth development, sociocultural preservation, and community growth. In the words of many participants, Hon. Adamu Atiku embodies all three.

As the curtains fell on the colourful summit, the image of the Sardaunan Ganye standing beside the Gangwari of Ganye with the Excellence Award in hand became symbolic—a testament to a son of the soil whose service has bridged tradition, modern governance, and community development.

With this recognition, Hon. Adamu Atiku’s legacy continues to rise as a beacon of inspiration to young leaders and professionals across the Chamba nation and Adamawa State at large.
