Adamawa APC to Launch Statewide Electronic Membership Registration in December

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to commence a comprehensive electronic membership registration exercise across the state starting December 2025. The initiative is part of the party’s effort to streamline its membership records and strengthen internal democracy ahead of upcoming political contests.

According to state party officials, the exercise aims to register at least 200,000 verified members within the first month, using the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) as the primary verification tool. This step is intended to eliminate ghost memberships and ensure that only legitimate party members are recognized in the party’s database.

Speaking on the planned registration, the State APC Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Saleh, emphasized that the initiative would enhance transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness within the party. “We are committed to building a robust, credible membership system that reflects genuine support on the ground. The e-registration exercise will also enable members to access empowerment programmes and participate fully in party activities,” he said.
The APC’s digital membership drive will cover all 21 local government areas in Adamawa, with registration points set up in each local council. Trained party personnel and volunteers will guide members through the process, ensuring that technological challenges do not hinder participation.

Political analysts see the move as a strategic step for the APC, particularly in consolidating grassroots support and preventing disputes over membership verification ahead of elections. They note that electronic registration not only modernizes party operations but also strengthens the integrity of internal primaries and candidate selection processes.

The state party has urged members and aspirants to actively participate in the exercise, warning that failure to register electronically may affect eligibility for internal party benefits and electoral endorsements.

With the registration exercise set to begin next month, observers will be watching closely to see how effectively the APC leverages technology to deepen democracy, enhance accountability, and maintain its competitive edge in Adamawa’s evolving political landscape.
