In a powerful call to action ahead of this year’s National Chamba Youth Leadership and Economic Summit, elder statesman and respected community pillar, Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed, the Walin Ganye, has urged Chamba youths to shun every form of vice, hatred, and division capable of destabilising the historic Ganye Chiefdom.
Speaking passionately from his Asokoro resident in Abuja, the Walin Ganye appealed to young people to rise above ethnic, tribal, religious, and political differences, and instead embrace unity, tolerance, and collective progress. He charged them to become true patriots of the Chamba nation—ambassadors of peace who will work tirelessly for the development of Ganye Chiefdom.
The National Chamba Youth Leadership and Economic Summit, a flagship annual event that celebrates Chamba identity, innovation, and leadership, has grown into one of the most influential gatherings of youth across Nigeria and beyond.
Last year’s edition, held from October 25–26, 2024 in Jalingo, Taraba State, drew an inspiring mix of cultural stakeholders, emerging leaders, and dignitaries. This year, the prestigious summit returns home to the ancient Ganye Chiefdom in Adamawa State, scheduled for December 3rd to 6th—a moment many describe as symbolic and historic.
The summit has continued to attract participants not just across Nigeria but from across the African continent, including representatives from Ghana, Togo, South Africa, and other countries. Their presence underscores the deepening ties, wide admiration, and continental respect for the Chamba cultural legacy.
Widely recognised for his unwavering commitment to community advancement, Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed Walin Ganye remains one of the most dedicated benefactors of Chamba developmental initiatives. His enduring support for youth empowerment, economic growth, education, and cultural preservation has earned him admiration across generations.
In addition to his financial sponsorship of this year’s summit, the Walin Ganye has long been a backbone of numerous community-driven projects. He previously donated ₦5 million to support initiatives by Sama Tikamen aimed at strengthening education and other developmental programmes across Chamba communities.
As preparations intensify for the 2024–2025 edition of the summit in Ganye, the Walin Ganye reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the growth and elevation of Chamba youths. He pledged continuous support to ensure that the summit becomes a catalyst for transformation, excellence, and unity.
With national and international delegations expected, the stage is set for a defining moment in the history of the Chamba people. The summit promises deep conversations on leadership, economic inclusion, skills development, and preservation of culture.
Above all, the clarion call from the Walin Ganye echoes loudly:
“Let the Chamba youth embrace every supporter of reform and shun any differences of ethnic, tribal, religion and political inclination. Let them reject division. Let them work for peace, progress, and the future of Ganye Chiefdom.”
