BREAKING: Nigerian Military Crushes Massive Boko Haram Onslaught on Chibok — Over 300 Terrorists Routed in Midnight Battle

In a fierce, hours-long confrontation that tested the resilience of Nigeria’s counterterrorism forces, troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in the early hours of Saturday, defeated a massive, coordinated Boko Haram/ISWAP attack on Chibok, Borno State — the historic community that once shook the world after the 2014 schoolgirl abduction.

According to authoritative military sources, over 300 heavily armed terrorists stormed Chibok from multiple fronts around 3:00 a.m., attempting to overrun defensive positions and threaten civilian settlements. But the troops, who were already on heightened alert due to recent intelligence, responded with overwhelming firepower.

A security source who spoke with the counter-insurgency platform Zagazola Makama said:

> “The troops were alert and professionally contained the attack. There was no casualty on our side, and no military equipment was affected.”

Precision Airstrikes Devastate Fleeing Terrorists

Following their failed attempt to break the defensive line, the terrorists retreated in disarray — a move that proved fatal. Ground commanders immediately requested air support, prompting the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to deploy combat aircraft to the area.

In what sources described as “precise and devastating air interdictions,” the NAF delivered multiple high-impact strikes on the terrorists’ withdrawal routes, cutting down scores of fighters attempting to escape into the Sambisa/Timbuktu Triangle axis.

A senior security officer revealed that four major airstrikes were executed, guided by real-time intelligence from troops on the ground.

The first strike hit a regrouping cluster of fighters, “achieving significant degradation of hostile elements.”

Subsequent strikes targeted splinter groups fleeing into forested areas.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) maintained relentless surveillance and carried out further precision engagements.

The combined ground–air assault inflicted “substantial losses” on the terrorists, effectively thwarting any chance of regrouping after their failed offensive.

A Bold Attack Amid Rising Insecurity Nationwide

This latest incident comes at a time when Nigeria is grappling with a renewed wave of terrorism and banditry across various regions. The scale and audacity of the Chibok attack underscore the persistent threats facing communities in the Northeast.

Only recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency on national security, directing military and intelligence agencies to intensify operations and restore stability nationwide.

Saturday’s successful defence of Chibok stands as a strong demonstration of Nigeria’s military resolve — and a reminder that the nation’s frontline troops remain determined to prevent terrorists from reclaiming lost ground.
