Sahara reporters has taken to its official X handle and announced that, in a major development within the Nigerian Police hierarchy, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially scheduled promotion examinations and interactive sessions for no fewer than 596 Superintendents of Police (SPs) and 56 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) as the Force embarks on another round of high-stakes career elevation.
The announcement, contained in an authoritative wireless message referenced CB.4001/FS/FHQ/ABJ/V.T2/12 and issued on November 25, 2025, was dispatched from the office of the Nigeria Police Force Secretary (NIGPOL FORSEC) to formations across the country.
SPs Promotion Exam: December 2, 2025
The PSC disclosed that Senior Police Officers aspiring to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) will face their promotion examination on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the prestigious Parry Osayande Auditorium, PSC Headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.
Officers are mandated to report to their commanders by 7:00 a.m. for briefing and coordinated movement, ahead of the 8:00 a.m. prompt commencement time.
A total of 596 SPs were directed to be warned and released for the exercise. Among them are:

Similarly, the PSC has slated the promotion examination and interactive session for CSPs seeking elevation to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Monday, December 1, 2025, also at the Parry Osayande Auditorium.

Dress Code, Logistics & Security Reinforced
In an unmistakable signal of the seriousness attached to the exercise, the PSC issued strict guidelines for attire and logistics:
Dress Code
Conventional black jacket, beret, and swagger cane for regular officers.
Tactical unit officers must appear in black shirts over green denim with berets.
Security Arrangement
The AIG MOPOL has been directed to deploy 12 armed, neatly turned-out personnel for both days of the examinations.
Transport & Escort Vehicles
TRANSFOR must provide a serviceable vehicle to convey senior officers to and from the venue.
Two Hilux vans are to be on standby at the Force Headquarters Parade Ground from 6:00 a.m. daily to support escort operations.
PSC Orders Strict Compliance
The directive, signed by NIGPOL FORSEC, stressed that all instructions should be treated as “Very Important”, urging all units to ensure immediate, unhindered compliance as the Force braces for one of its most comprehensive promotion exercises in recent years.
With heightened security, tight coordination, and nearly 652 officers involved, the December sessions are expected to shape the next leadership cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.
