INTELLIGENCE-LED POLICING: THREE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS ARRESTED IN ADAMAWA

In a decisive security breakthrough, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers following a swift and intelligence-driven operation aimed at safeguarding the lives and property of residents.

The arrest was triggered by a distress complaint received on 19th November 2025 from a resident of a community in Song Local Government Area, who reported receiving a chilling phone call the previous day from an unknown number. The caller demanded ₦2,000,000 and threatened to kidnap and possibly kill him if he failed to comply — a threat that left the victim in deep fear and sleepless anxiety.

Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), immediately directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department (SID), Yola, to launch a full-scale investigation and ensure the perpetrators were tracked down without delay.

Acting on the CP’s directive, police operatives deployed advanced technical intelligence, successfully tracing the unknown subscriber and apprehending the suspects. The arrested individuals are:

1. Ahmadu Alhaji Halilu, 24

2. Adamu Buba Balejo, 21

3. Hassan Alhaji Liman

All three suspects are males from Malabu District in Fufore LGA.

During interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the crime, while the SIM card used to issue the threat was recovered and is now secured as a key exhibit in the ongoing investigation.

The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives for their professionalism, swift response, and tactical precision, reiterating the Command’s unwavering commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring that all offenders face the full weight of the law.

The suspects will be diligently prosecuted upon conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
