As the political atmosphere heats up ahead of the 2027 general elections, momentum is building in Southern Kaduna where a powerful movement has thrown its weight behind the former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), urging him to represent the people of the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone in the next National Assembly.
The campaign, spearheaded by the Christopher Gwabin Musa (CGM) Vanguard 2027, cuts across men, women, and youth from all parts of the region who believe the ex-military chief possesses the integrity, courage, and leadership experience needed to transform Southern Kaduna’s political and developmental landscape.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the National Coordinator of the CGM Vanguard, Hon. Baba Ransome Adamu, described General Musa as “not just a soldier, but a man of peace, unity, and purpose.”
> “Under his leadership, Nigeria witnessed renewed confidence in its military institutions, improved professionalism within the Armed Forces, and a noticeable drop in insecurity across various regions,” Adamu said.
He added that General Musa’s reputation for humility, fairness, and accessibility has earned him deep respect among people of all walks of life, describing him as “a true son of Southern Kaduna — humble despite his achievements, approachable despite his rank, and firm even in moments of national challenge.”
According to the statement, General Musa’s name symbolizes hope and healing in a region that has endured years of division and underdevelopment. The group believes his transition from peacekeeping to politics represents a natural continuation of his lifelong service to the nation.
> “As 2027 approaches, Southern Kaduna stands at a defining crossroads,” the statement reads. “We need a leader who can unite rather than divide, one who can negotiate rather than impose, and one who speaks truth with wisdom and conviction. General Musa embodies all these qualities.”
Hon. Adamu emphasized that the movement’s call is not merely political, but a moral appeal for purposeful representation.
> “General Musa has already given Nigeria peace,” he said. “Now, we believe he can give his people a voice.”
With strong grassroots mobilization gaining traction, the CGM Vanguard 2027 is rapidly evolving into a people-driven platform advocating for peace, unity, and leadership built on integrity.
The group’s resonant slogan, “From Peacekeeping to Nation Building — CGM 2027,” captures the essence of their mission: to transform the values of discipline, patriotism, and service that defined General Musa’s military career into a new era of political representation and regional renewal.
