It was a moment of joy, gratitude, and reflection as the Adamawa State Coordinator of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Felicia Amos Dauda, held a colourful thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate her recent electoral victory. The event took place at the House of Refuge International Church, Yola, drawing a large crowd of journalists, family members, friends, and supporters from across the state.
The celebration, marked by songs of praise and heartfelt prayers, reflected Dauda’s humility and deep sense of appreciation to God and the people who stood by her throughout the election.

In her remarks, Felicia Amos Dauda expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty for granting her success, describing her victory as a testament to faith, perseverance, and the collective will of women journalists in Adamawa State.
> “I thank God Almighty for this memorable day and for surrounding me with love and support. I am especially touched by the unity I witnessed here today — both Muslims and Christians came together to celebrate with me. This is the true spirit of Adamawa, where peace and togetherness triumph over division,” Dauda said.
The newly elected NAWOJ coordinator reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening the association, empowering women in journalism, and promoting ethical media practice.
Speaking at the event, the Church Administrator, Mr. Hyelda Abraham, urged Nigerians to embrace unity and love, stressing that peace can only thrive in an environment of mutual understanding and respect.
> “When we love one another, peace follows, and when there is peace, development is inevitable. Our diversity should be our strength, not a reason for conflict,” he stated.
The thanksgiving service, attended by prominent media figures, community leaders, and members of civil society, also served as a platform to celebrate Dauda’s dedication, professionalism, and her long-standing advocacy for women’s rights and press freedom.

Guests at the event commended her for her leadership qualities, describing her victory as a well-deserved recognition of her passion for service and excellence in journalism.
As the ceremony drew to a close, attendees offered prayers for Dauda’s continued success and for peace in Adamawa and Nigeria at large.
Congratulations to Felicia Amos Dauda — a symbol of grace, leadership, and unity.
