In a renewed onslaught against violent crimes and bandit activities, the Adamawa State Police Command has launched a robust internal security operation with the deployment of additional operatives to Kiri and Wuro Yanka villages in Shelleng Local Government Area.
The intensified operation, according to the Command, is part of a comprehensive action plan aimed at curbing criminal activities, restoring peace, and safeguarding residents and their property.
The deployment followed credible intelligence reports that some armed miscreants ambushed cattle rearers on different occasions, killing and maiming livestock in the troubled axis.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje (ANIPR), on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), the Police Commissioner emphasized his unwavering commitment to ensuring peace, security, and justice across Adamawa State.
CP Morris charged the newly deployed operatives to exhibit professionalism, discipline, and tactical precision, stressing that the Command would not tolerate any form of negligence or misconduct in the line of duty.
> “Our focus is to prevent violent crimes, protect lives and property, and ensure the arrest and prosecution of offenders. Officers deployed must respond promptly and act decisively to any security threat,” the Commissioner declared.
He also highlighted the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and commended the resilience and dedication of officers in the ongoing fight against cross-border crimes and communal violence.
The Command urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent crime and enhance public safety.
The Adamawa State Police Command reaffirmed its readiness to work with all stakeholders in strengthening security across the state, particularly in rural and border communities vulnerable to criminal incursions.
