In a fiery declaration of intent, UK Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch has unveiled what she describes as the “toughest immigration reforms Britain has ever seen,” vowing to deport 150,000 illegal migrants each year under a new Radical Borders Plan.
The plan, announced in a hard-hitting video message on her X account on Sunday, will see the creation of a new Removals Force, modelled on the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with sweeping powers to detain and deport illegal entrants.
> “My message is clear: if you’re here illegally, you will be detained and deported,” Badenoch declared.
The Conservative leader took aim at both Labour and successive Tory administrations, accusing them of “decades of weakness” in tackling Britain’s migration crisis. She blasted Labour for presiding over record-breaking small boat crossings and “billions wasted on asylum hotels.”
“Labour promised to smash the gangs,” Badenoch said. “Instead, in just a year, they delivered over 50,000 illegal arrivals, 32,000 people in taxpayer-funded hotels, and a system that rewards failure. Britain needs a credible plan — and the backbone to deliver it.”
Key Proposals Under the ‘Radical Borders Plan’
Mass Deportations: 150,000 removals annually, with all illegal arrivals deported within a week.
Asylum Overhaul: Ban on asylum claims for illegal entrants.
Legal Breakaway: Withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and repeal of the Human Rights Act.
Visa Sanctions: Restrictions on countries refusing to take back deported citizens.
Hotel Shutdown: Immediate closure of what Badenoch called the “asylum hotel racket,” saving taxpayers billions.
The measures, she argued, would not only secure Britain’s borders but also restore public confidence in a system “broken by weak leadership and endless bureaucracy.”
> “Only the Conservatives have a serious, credible plan to deliver stronger borders,” Badenoch insisted. “If you come here illegally, you will be deported.”
Her announcement is already sparking fierce debate across the political spectrum, with critics warning it risks plunging Britain into a clash with European institutions and igniting human rights battles, while supporters hail it as the boldest step yet in reclaiming UK sovereignty.
