President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new Chief Executives to head strategic federal agencies, signaling a renewed push to reposition key sectors of Nigeria’s economy and governance.
In a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information & Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), the appointments take effect in September 2025.
According to the announcement, Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State has been named Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency for an initial term of four years, effective September 18, 2025, in line with Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.
Similarly, Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu from Zamfara State has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal (IST) for a five-year tenure, beginning September 18, 2025.
In the tourism sector, Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan has been named the new Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) for an initial four-year term, effective September 2, 2025.
The Presidency noted that the fresh appointments reflect Tinubu’s commitment to consolidating reforms across critical sectors. The statement emphasized that the new appointees are expected to bring their wealth of experience, energy, and vision to drive innovation, strengthen institutions, and deliver results that will serve the interest of Nigerians.

With this latest move, Tinubu continues to expand his reform-driven leadership, entrusting critical agencies with new leadership to accelerate national development.
