As Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced a special national thanksgiving and intercessory service to be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Throne of Grace, RCCG National Headquarters, Redemption Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
Themed “The King of Kings,” the service will be led by the revered General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who is expected to lift fervent prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, and sustainable progress.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, the Assistant Pastor in charge of Province 1, the service is not merely a church event but a clarion call for national intercession at a defining moment in Nigeria’s history.
> “Guided by divine direction, Pastor Adeboye will lead the congregation in targeted prayers for the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government, electoral institutions, security agencies, political leaders, elder statesmen, and for the unity and stability of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement read.
The prayers, Macaulay explained, will focus on restoring trust in governance, strengthening democracy, healing divisions, and steering Nigeria toward divine breakthroughs amid economic and social challenges.
Stakeholders, government officials, community leaders, and the general public have been specially invited to join the spiritual convocation at 7:30 a.m., with the RCCG emphasizing that collective supplication remains a critical path to national renewal.
With Nigeria’s journey at 65 still marred by insecurity, political wrangling, and economic turbulence, the RCCG believes this gathering will serve as a sacred platform for charting a new destiny for the nation under God.
