“I Don’t Like Tinubu’s Govt, But I Can’t Fight God’s Decision” — Primate Ayodele Declares, Warns Presidency Against Complacency

Nigeria’s fiery prophet and Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stirred fresh debate in the nation’s political and religious space after declaring that although he does not personally support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, he accepts it as God’s ordained will for the country.

In a video message released to his followers, the cleric openly confessed: “I don’t like Tinubu’s government, but I cannot fight a government when the Lord said, ‘This is it.’” He explained that as a prophet, his duty is to deliver divine revelations without bias, emphasizing that once God sanctions a government, to resist it is to challenge divine authority itself.

However, Primate Ayodele did not spare the presidency from stern warnings. He stressed that divine approval is not a license for complacency, urging Tinubu to urgently address the nation’s pressing challenges — skyrocketing food prices, deepening unemployment, worsening insecurity, and the freefall of the naira.

According to him, leadership must be judged not by the preservation of political power but by how policies uplift the suffering masses. “Genuine governance must be measured by how it eases the burdens of ordinary citizens, not by how it secures political thrones,” he said pointedly.

The cleric further admonished Nigerians to remain prayerful for their leaders, arguing that peace, stability, and progress ultimately benefit everyone regardless of political differences. While calling for constructive support of the government’s positive moves, he also insisted that citizens must hold leaders accountable for their failures.

Primate Ayodele concluded with a solemn reminder that he would not shy away from sounding the alarm whenever leadership drifts away from service to the people. “I cannot oppose what God has permitted, but I will never stop speaking the truth when leaders go astray,” he declared.
