“Nigeria Found Its Voice At UN: Fani-Kayode Hails Shettima’s Courageous Stand On Israel-Palestine War”

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has lauded Vice President Kashim Shettima’s powerful address at the United Nations General Assembly, describing it as one of the boldest statements ever made by a Nigerian leader on the global stage.

In a strongly worded reaction shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Fani-Kayode commended Shettima for openly condemning Israel’s sustained attacks on Palestine. He said the Vice President’s speech was not only courageous and principled but also a moral awakening that positioned Nigeria as a true voice of justice among nations.

According to the former minister, Shettima’s denunciation of “injustice, racism, apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and mass murder” reflected rare courage in a world where many leaders choose silence over truth.

> “This was a defining moment for Nigeria. History will remember that we did not keep quiet in the face of what I regard as the second most brutal holocaust in human history,” Fani-Kayode declared.

He further praised Shettima for championing Nigeria’s bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and for strongly supporting a two-state solution to the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Fani-Kayode described the Vice President’s words as “a voice for the voiceless and a call for divine intervention on behalf of the oppressed.” He maintained that Shettima’s address represented a watershed in Nigeria’s foreign policy and moral standing, proving that the country could stand tall in the defense of truth and humanity.

> “His speech was more than diplomacy—it was prophecy. Nigeria has chosen justice over silence, and the world took note,” Fani-Kayode concluded.
