JUST IN: Ex-APC Spokesman Timi Frank Demands Tinubu Probe FCT Minister Wike Over Alleged U.S. Properties Scandal

The storm surrounding Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has taken a dramatic turn as former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately probe the minister over alleged illegal acquisition of multi-million-dollar properties in the United States.

Frank, in a hard-hitting statement released in Abuja on Thursday, urged the President to “break his troubling silence” over media reports linking Wike to mansions in Florida allegedly registered under the names of his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, and their children, Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan.

The fiery activist insisted that President Tinubu’s inaction in the face of “overwhelming evidence” paints a dangerous picture of selective justice in Nigeria’s anti-corruption war.

“With detailed investigations published by credible outlets like People’s Gazette and Sahara Reporters—backed with verifiable documents—Nigerians are left wondering why the EFCC and ICPC continue to look away. This silence suggests that some officials are now seen as untouchable,” Frank declared.

He warned that shielding Wike, a key political ally, from accountability would embolden impunity and arrogance in government, eroding public trust and fueling unrest similar to the Nepal uprising.

Frank also commended Omoyele Sowore of Sahara Reporters and publishers of People’s Gazette for what he described as “bravery in exposing corruption at the highest levels,” even when it implicates powerful serving officials.

“The Presidency is the face of Nigeria’s integrity. If the President refuses to act because of political calculations ahead of 2027, then Nigeria’s reputation is in grave danger. The world is watching, and investors are paying attention. Selective justice will make us a global laughing stock,” he warned.

Drawing parallels with the swift suspension of former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, Frank said Tinubu’s refusal to hold Wike to the same standard exposes dangerous favoritism.

“When Rivers State was engulfed in crisis, the President quickly moved against Governor Fubara and the State Assembly but left Wike untouched. Such inconsistency raises valid suspicions of political shielding,” he stated.

Frank therefore urged Tinubu to immediately suspend Wike and commission an independent investigation, stressing that no official should be allowed to feel like a god.

“The President must choose between protecting Nigeria’s dignity or sacrificing it on the altar of political ambition. History will not be kind if corruption is shielded for convenience,” Frank concluded.
