Paris Secret Talks: How Kwankwaso Was Courted For Tinubu’s Cabinet — NNPP Chairman Spills

National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ajuji Ahmed, has made explosive revelations about a high-level political move involving former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a revealing interview on Arise News, Ahmed confirmed that Kwankwaso was privately invited to Paris for a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu, where he was strongly persuaded to accept a ministerial slot in the new administration.

“When he was invited to Paris and talked into accepting a slot in the cabinet of His Excellency, Mr President, but later on, a lot of things happened,” Ahmed disclosed, hinting at a dramatic twist that derailed what could have been a historic political alliance.

Though the NNPP boss declined to disclose the full details of the fallout, he suggested that entrenched political undercurrents and shifting interests led to the collapse of the Paris arrangement. Despite the setback, Ahmed stressed that Kwankwaso entered the talks in good faith, driven by a genuine desire to contribute to Nigeria’s growth and stability.

Kwankwaso, who emerged as a major force in the 2023 elections, continues to command deep loyalty across Kano and other northern states. According to Ahmed, his influence remains a key factor in shaping Nigeria’s political future, while the NNPP positions itself as a formidable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Political observers believe the Paris meeting was part of a broader attempt to forge alliances after the fiercely contested 2023 polls. However, the collapse of the deal has only intensified speculations about a strained relationship between Kwankwaso and the Tinubu-led APC.

Reassuring supporters, Ahmed vowed that the NNPP would not relent in its mission to build a people-centered political movement. “Kwankwaso’s political journey is far from over,” he said, noting that the party remains focused on championing the hopes of millions of Nigerians yearning for real change.
