In a remarkable display of tradition, humility, and statesmanship, His Royal Highness, the Lamido of Fuunange, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, has paid a historic courtesy visit to one of Adamawa’s most revered elder statesmen, Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed (the Walin Ganye), at his Asokoro office in Abuja.
The visit, which was the Lamido’s first official engagement with the elder statesman since his turbaning, was more than a ceremonial encounter. It symbolized the convergence of traditional authority and timeless wisdom in the service of humanity and the greater good of Adamawa State.

During their discussions, both leaders exchanged views on pressing cultural and social issues, with a shared focus on unity, development, and the preservation of values that promote peace and collective progress.
Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed, widely respected for his humility, philanthropy, and selfless commitment to the welfare of his people, congratulated the Lamido on his enthronement and pledged his continuous support. Known as a man who consistently places the needs of his people above personal interest, the Walin Ganye reminded the monarch that leadership is a sacred trust that must always be anchored in service to humanity.
The Lamido, in turn, expressed deep appreciation for the Walin’s counsel and acknowledged his enduring role as a guiding light for generations in Adamawa and beyond.
The atmosphere of the meeting was both celebratory and reflective. It underscored the deep bond between traditional custodians and elder statesmen—two pillars upon which communities rely for stability and guidance in turbulent times.

The several-hour visit concluded with a warm farewell, but its significance resonated far beyond the room. For many, it represented the meeting of two generations committed to upholding values of integrity, service, and compassion—qualities that define the legacy of the Walin Ganye and now inspire the reign of the Lamido of Fuunange.
