The political storm in Rivers State has taken a fresh twist as the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, declared that Governor Siminalayi Fubara can still secure a second term in office — but only if he bows to a delicate balance of loyalty and divine guidance.
This prophecy comes amid speculations that part of the conditions for Fubara’s reinstatement was to abandon any ambition for a second term, following his bitter face-off with his predecessor and political godfather, Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele stressed that Fubara’s political future remains viable if he seeks God’s direction and aligns fully with Wike’s authority. He warned, however, that such loyalty may come at a heavy cost.
> “Fubara can still get a second term if he seeks the face of God and is obedient to his principal, Nyesom Wike. His acting deputy governor will, in reality, be the Speaker of the House of Assembly, while his chosen deputy will serve as a mere figurehead,” Ayodele revealed.
The cleric further predicted that Rivers State will remain restive, with pockets of crisis fueled by disenchanted allies of the governor who may feel betrayed by his decisions.
> “Rivers won’t be fully peaceful because of Fubara’s indecision. He won’t be taken seriously anymore. Some of his allies will revolt, and his battles with Wike are far from over. The governor himself will be used as a political tool to keep Wike in check,” he added.
Despite the bleak forecast, Primate Ayodele praised President Bola Tinubu for averting what he described as a looming catastrophe in the state.
> “Tinubu saved Rivers State from calamity and bloodbath. Without his intervention, the state would have been forgotten. The emergency measures brought calm at a time when chaos was imminent,” he stated.
With Ayodele’s prophecy rekindling debate over Fubara’s political fate, Rivers State may once again become the epicenter of Nigeria’s power struggle, where loyalty, ambition, and divine providence collide.
