Buba Galadima Raises Alarm: “Nigeria Risks Civil War If INEC Chairman Is Replaced With Corrupt Ex-Supreme Court Judge”

By Our Correspondent

Elder statesman and political activist, Buba Galadima, has issued a stern warning to the Federal Government over alleged plans to remove the current Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and replace him with a former Supreme Court judge notorious for dishonesty.

Galadima, in a fiery remark, cautioned that such a move would not only undermine democracy but could also plunge the nation into chaos.

> “There is a rumor that this government wants to change the INEC chairman and replace him with a former judge from the Supreme Court renowned for dishonesty. If this happens, then we should be prepared for a civil war,” Galadima declared.

The outspoken politician stressed that Nigeria’s fragile democracy cannot withstand another electoral controversy, warning that any attempt to manipulate the electoral process through a compromised appointment would be met with strong resistance from the people.

Political analysts believe Galadima’s outburst reflects growing public concerns about transparency, credibility, and independence of electoral institutions, which remain the backbone of Nigeria’s democracy.

As the 2027 general elections inch closer, the unfolding development has sparked debates across political circles, with stakeholders urging the government to prioritize fairness and protect the sanctity of the electoral process.
