Kano — Tension gripped residents of Kurna area in Kano metropolis on Saturday after security operatives foiled a chilling assassination plot and arrested a gang of notorious thugs who disguised themselves as women to evade detection.
The suspects, believed to be part of a ruthless network of hired hitmen, reportedly stormed the area under the cover of feminine attire, allegedly targeting individuals marked for elimination. Their plan, however, was thwarted when the vigilant local security outfit intercepted and apprehended them before they could strike.

According to credible sources, the gang has a long history of using deceptive disguises to infiltrate communities and carry out deadly missions without suspicion. Their arrest is being hailed as a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime in Kano.
The suspects are currently in the custody of relevant security agencies undergoing intensive interrogation, with investigations expected to unravel their sponsors and other accomplices.
Grateful residents of Kurna commended the swift and decisive action of the security forces, urging authorities to intensify surveillance and intelligence gathering across the state to prevent similar brazen plots in the future.
“This is a wake-up call that criminals are getting more sophisticated,” a community elder told Zagazola Makama. “We must remain vigilant and support security agencies to safeguard our lives.”
With the daring plot foiled, Kano residents are breathing a sigh of relief, even as questions remain about the extent of the criminal network and the identities of those behind the assassination attempt.
