TERROR IN KATSINA: Bandits Ambush C-Watch Operatives, Kill Eight, Torch Patrol Vehicles in Dandume

In yet another chilling display of lawlessness, suspected bandits have launched a deadly ambush against operatives of the C-Watch security outfit in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to reports shared by Nigerian Stories on its official X handle, no fewer than eight operatives lost their lives during the bloody attack, while two patrol vehicles belonging to the security outfit were set ablaze.

The brazen assault, which has thrown residents of Dandume into panic, underscores the worsening insecurity plaguing rural communities in the state. Eyewitnesses say the attackers laid siege in the dead of night, overpowering the security operatives in a fierce gun battle that lasted several hours.

Security analysts warn that the incident highlights the growing boldness of criminal gangs across the North-West, despite intensified military operations in the region. Many fear that the continuous attacks on local security outfits could weaken grassroots efforts to protect vulnerable communities from bandit incursions.

As of press time, authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but locals are calling for urgent government intervention to forestall further bloodshed.
