TROOPS STRIKE HARD: DEFENCE HQ CONFIRMS KILLING OF TERRORISTS, ARREST OF 85 SUSPECTS, RESCUE OF 66 HOSTAGES NATIONWIDE

In a major show of force, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced sweeping nationwide military operations that dealt decisive blows to terrorists and criminal gangs in August.

According to a statement released on Thursday, troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces neutralised several terrorists, arrested no fewer than 85 suspected criminals, and successfully rescued 66 victims of kidnapping in different theatres of operation across the country.

The coordinated offensives, spanning the North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions, were part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks, disrupt bandit camps, and restore peace to communities long plagued by insecurity.

Military authorities described the operations as “relentless and intelligence-driven,” stressing that the rescued hostages were swiftly reunited with their families after medical checks.

The DHQ reassured Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while warning criminal elements that the Armed Forces will continue to pursue them with precision and determination until lasting peace is restored.

This announcement comes at a time when public confidence in the fight against insecurity is at a critical point, with citizens calling for more sustained and result-oriented actions from the government and its security agencies.
