The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded yet another major breakthrough in its relentless war against crime, with the arrest of a suspected car thief and the recovery of two vehicles in Yola.
Operatives of the Command, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Yola Division, acting on credible intelligence, arrested one Musa Suleh, male, of Uba in Hong Local Government Area, at Jambutu Motor Park, Yola North LGA.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing a Toyota Starlet with registration number YLA-420, belonging to Mr. Babawo Abubakar of Ngurore, Yola South LGA. The vehicle has since been successfully recovered.
Further investigation also led to the discovery of another Toyota Starlet, green in colour, with number plate JAL-861 CL, which the suspect could not provide any document or proof of ownership for.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc(+), has directed the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for thorough investigation, with the goal of uncovering the wider criminal network and possible accomplices behind the stolen vehicles.
In a statement, the Command called on members of the public to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information that could help in tackling criminal activities. The Command further assured residents of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across Adamawa State.
The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
