The Police Service Commission (PSC) has sounded a strong warning to desperate job seekers and unsuspecting members of the public, declaring that it has not commenced recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force for the year 2025.
The Commission, in a statement signed by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, described as fake, misleading, and fraudulent an online advertorial currently circulating on social media platforms, purporting to announce the commencement of the nationwide recruitment exercise.
According to the PSC, the dubious publication is the handiwork of “disgruntled scammers and criminally minded individuals” seeking to exploit the hopes of Nigerian youths.
> “For the umpteenth time, the Commission wishes to warn these elements to desist from their dubious pastime. The said advertorial is not from the Police Service Commission and does not in any way represent the official character or content of our recruitment announcements,” the statement stressed.
Ani further urged Nigerians, particularly young applicants aspiring to join the Police Force, to exercise patience as the Commission concludes preparations for a transparent, credible, and equitable recruitment process.
The PSC assured that once the 2025 exercise officially commences, it will bear all the legitimate “footprints” of the Commission and will be widely publicized through its authentic communication channels.
The statement reiterated the Commission’s commitment to delivering a recruitment exercise devoid of “unnecessary interference, manipulation, or favoritism,” assuring that only qualified and deserving candidates will be selected.
The public was strongly cautioned to disregard any unofficial adverts and report suspicious recruitment claims to the relevant authorities.
Key Takeaway:
The 2025 Police recruitment has not started.
Any online adverts claiming otherwise are scams.
Applicants should wait for the official announcement from the PSC.
