The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network News has announced via its official X handle that the Borno State chapters of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), comprising Maiduguri and Biu branches, have converged to mark the highly anticipated 2025 Law Week.
Held under the compelling theme, “Technology and Professionalism in Justice Delivery,” the event drew a diverse audience of legal minds, public officials, and stakeholders from across Borno State. The gathering underscored the growing relevance of digital innovation in reshaping Nigeria’s legal landscape.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Borno State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Hauwa Abubakar, delivered a clarion call for an urgent and holistic integration of technology into the country’s justice delivery system.
According to the Commissioner, the digitization of judicial processes is no longer optional but essential, particularly in a state like Borno where rebuilding and institutional strengthening remain top priorities. She emphasized that adopting cutting-edge legal tech would not only ensure swift dispensation of justice but also enhance transparency, efficiency, and public trust in the legal system.
“The future of justice in Nigeria lies in the seamless fusion of legal expertise and digital innovation. We must break away from the limitations of analog systems and embrace a smarter, faster, and more accountable judicial process,” she stated.
Participants at the Law Week commended the state government’s commitment to judicial reforms and called for collaborative efforts to bridge the technological gap in the legal sector.
The event signals a renewed push by Borno State’s leadership toward a future-proof judicial framework that prioritizes digital transformation as a pillar of governance, justice, and rule of law.
