As anticipation builds for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), Head Coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a formidable 23-man squad for the Super Eagles B team, featuring captain Junior Harrison Nduka, experienced defender Sikiru Alimi, and prolific forward Godwin Obaje. These home-based stars, alongside 20 other standout players, are poised to fly Nigeria’s flag high in the tournament, which kicks off across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from August 2 to 30.
The squad—comprising a dynamic blend of seasoned talents and rising stars—also includes goalkeeper Ozoemena Ani, defenders Sodiq Ismaila and Stephen Mayo, midfield maestros Hadi Haruna and Alex Oyowah, and forward threats like Anas Yusuf, Ijoma Anthony, and Sikiru Alimi.
The team departs tonight for Zanzibar aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight, marking the start of their final phase of preparations. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has arranged an intensive second-phase training camp on the island from July 25 to 31. This will be followed by two high-stakes friendly matches against the Senior National Team of Zanzibar—scheduled for Monday, July 28, and Thursday, July 31.

The Super Eagles B have spent weeks honing their tactics and conditioning at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State. Their focused build-up underscores Nigeria’s determination to better its past achievements in the tournament, having clinched bronze in 2014 and silver in 2018.
Grouped in the highly competitive Group D, Nigeria will face reigning champions Senegal, alongside Sudan and Congo in the 19-team continental showdown. The Eagles will battle Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, before heading to Dar es Salaam to lock horns with Congo at the iconic Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
