Formal Resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

Dear Sir,

I write to formally notify the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of my resignation from the party, effective immediately.

On Wednesday, 16th July, 2025 at exactly 10:00 am, after deep reflection and consultation, I arrived at the painful yet necessary decision to withdraw my membership from the PDP.

While there are numerous reasons behind this move, I will highlight just three (3) for clarity and public record:

1. Relentless Sacrifice Without Recognition:
I have devoted myself tirelessly to party activities—more than any other individual within the Ganye political landscape—yet I have received no respect, acknowledgment, or appreciation from the leadership. My sacrifices have been repeatedly disregarded.

2. Leadership Disconnect and Marginalization:
The PDP leadership at both the state and local levels have grown alarmingly distant and inaccessible. This alienation has made it incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to engage with decision-makers, resulting in persistent miscommunication, misunderstanding, and being outrightly ignored.

3. Political Betrayal by My Own Leader:
I joined and committed wholeheartedly to the PDP because of the trust I had in my political mentor, Hon. Nuhu Ribadu, who, among many other qualified individuals, selected me as his running mate during the 2015 Adamawa State gubernatorial election. Unfortunately, this trust has since been broken by actions that reflect betrayal and disregard.

Conclusion:

Let it be on record that I hold no grudges against anyone despite the unfortunate events that have unfolded. However, having observed and experienced continuous disregard, betrayal, and a total lack of internal democracy, I am compelled to take this decisive step.

If placed in similar circumstances, any objective-minded and self-respecting individual would have no choice but to make the same decision I have made today.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve under the PDP platform. I wish the party well in its future endeavors.
