In a significant show of grassroots support, the Aliyu Jamilu Youth Awareness Movement, Girei Local Government Chapter, held a highly spirited meeting this week in Girei town, throwing their full weight behind the philanthropic trailblazer, Aliyu Jamilu, and calling on him to contest for a political seat in the 2027 general elections.
During the gathering, the ten ward coordinators of the organization unanimously endorsed Aliyu Jamilu, citing his outstanding contributions to community development across Adamawa State. The Girei LG Coordinator, Honourable Abubakar Audu Dankasa, described Jamilu—fondly called Babs—as “a selfless leader with a golden heart,” who has transformed lives through educational support, youth empowerment initiatives, and the provision of potable water in several communities.

“Babs is not just a philanthropist; he is a symbol of hope, progress, and genuine leadership. We strongly believe he is the kind of leader Adamawa needs,” Dankasa declared.
The wave of support extended across the wards, with the State Coordinator of the Youth Awareness Foundation, Alhaji Aliyu Bobbo Lawan, receiving commendation for his tireless mobilization efforts in galvanizing public support for Aliyu Jamilu’s anticipated political aspiration.
Adding their voices to the growing chorus were Hon. Aminu Muhammad Joda, Coordinator of Jera Bonyo Ward, and the organization’s Women Leader, Hon. Ledia Isuwa. Both passionately urged Jamilu to heed the call of the people, assuring him of unwavering grassroots backing.

The Girei meeting is widely seen as a political springboard, signaling Aliyu Jamilu’s rising popularity and readiness for leadership. His consistent track record in promoting education, enhancing human capital development, and solving water scarcity problems has earned him widespread admiration from constituents who now clamor for him to step into the political arena.
If the enthusiasm at the meeting is any indication, the 2027 race may very well feature a formidable new contender—one powered by purpose, people, and proven service.
