Mysterious Discovery: Adamawa Police Seek Public Help to Reunite Found Boy With Family

The Adamawa State Police Command has raised an alert to the public following the discovery of a young boy found wandering alone under puzzling circumstances in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

In an announcement made via the Command’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, police authorities revealed that the child, identified as Idirisu Abdullahi, believed to be between 8 and 9 years old, was rescued on June 28, 2025, by officers patrolling the Mayo-Belwa axis.

According to preliminary information obtained from the child, he had journeyed from Maiha to Yola in the company of his mother, Amrat Abdullahi, but was later found loitering around Mbilla Primary and Secondary School, located in Mayo-Belwa, under yet-to-be-determined circumstances.

The Command has launched a full-scale investigation to unravel how the boy ended up separated from his guardian and relocated to a different local government entirely. Authorities are not ruling out any possibilities and have appealed to the general public for swift assistance.

In a press statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje (ANIPR), emphasized the urgency of tracing the boy’s family and ensuring his safe return. He called on anyone with relevant information about the child’s identity, family, or last known whereabouts to reach out immediately.
